Vatican City. In the heart of Rome, The Vatican houses some of the world’s most famous paintings and sculptures. Saint Peter’s Basilica stands tall as the pinnacle of The Vatican, dominating the Roman skyline. During a tour of The Vatican, our group was allowed to walk outside on a rooftop terrace. To our left stood the dome of St. Peter’s Basilica. The majesty of such a beautiful structure was quite overpowering, but as I walked around, I found a composition where the dome was partially hidden behind a group of trees. The framing was perfect and I loved how this giant building was covered, yet, somehow still demonstrated its grandeur. I took the photo and was so pleased with the outcome. You won’t find a view of The Vatican like this anywhere else.
